Sewing & Design

‍ ‍I am a self-taught (and hundreds of hours of youtube videos taught) sewist. My first real projects were in 2025 making my wedding dress and my spouse’s wedding pants — high stakes stuff!! — but the thrill of it going well made me feel unstoppable. Below is a documentation of my process and some of my favorite projects. I have tried sewing using conventional patterns but find that my brain works best self-drafting. While I am not a professional pattern maker, I have considered putting together a printed version of my cozy summer hoodie with step-by-step written instructions of how I put them together, look out for that in the future!

My design process starts in this notebook with concepts, rough sketches, and patterning notes which I then transfer to pattern drafting on transparent paper.
